“The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance.” It seems that though Aristotle lived hundreds of years ago, he was directly thinking of Jessica Barley and her work with A Darling Day when teaching us these words. Jessica Barley has been gracing the Upstate with her work since 2012 with A Darling Day. A Darling Day specializes in vintage rentals and props, as well as engagement and wedding photography. At the start of 2015, Jessica created a new website for each of her successes and gave her two sections a focused place to grow.
A Darling Day is run by Jessica and her husband Neil, who coincidentally met at a yard sale. They have a full collection of vintage and rustic items to complete any event set up. This collection is constantly growing and Jessica is always on the lookout for new items to be used. They strive to create an eclectic style for brides in a cost-effective way. Her assortment of styles include upholstered furniture, chairs, benches, dressers, tables, and a hodgepodge of cool props. If there’s an item you don’t see listed on their website, Jessica and Neil are so accommodating about finding the flawless fit for you. A Darling Day is perfection when completing the look at your engagement session or wedding at The Old Cigar Warehouse.
Jessica Barley has quite the eye for all things beautiful and has turned her adoration of true love into something successful. Her photography has been just as resilient as the love she captures, and functions to show the feeling and emotion of the big day. Jessica feels strongly about the little details and the personalities that come through her lens. She lives for candid shots and those authentic moments that arise throughout the day. If you’re a lover of natural light and sincere photos, Jessica Barley is the photographer for you. If you’re in need of more convincing, take a look at her blogs and Facebook page!
