Always the wedding business owner, never the bride…until now! Owner of The Old Cigar Warehouse and Liquid Catering, Tammy Johnson tied the knot this past August and we are finally getting the opportunity to spill the details. John Boyanoski was the lucky groom and second half of this power couple owning a local public relations firm, Complete Public Relations. The two met through Greenville’s young professionals group, PULSE, back in 2011. With a shared love of arguing politics, peanut butter ice cream, puzzles, and playing with John’s daughter Hannah, the rest is history. And what better way for John to bend down on one knee and propose than in the beautiful Old Cigar Warehouse where they would be wed? The question was popped and so was the champagne, and the “BoJo” big day approached with more buzz than a hives of bees.
The day was August 30th and it was quite literally the perfect late summer day: not too hot and no rain in site. The morning began with the girls gathered to get hair and makeup done by the talented team at Cotton Rouge. These professional ladies made the bridal party feel at ease with their knowledge and experience. When every hair and eyelash was in place, everyone hustled over to The Old Cigar Warehouse for pre-ceremony photos. Dear friends and a trusted vendor, Muse 10 Photography, was on the job that day. If only we could show every fabulous shot that was taken! Tammy and John opted for a first look before the ceremony, an emotional moment where the groom gets the chance to see his bride before any other guests. While further family and bridal party photos were going on in the back of the building and inside the Main Hall, Eastside Transportation employed their trolleys to transport guests to the ceremony site, Rock Quarry Garden.
If you haven’t been to Rock Quarry Garden, we highly suggest it. Think picturesque greenery, a waterfall, and beautiful blooms abound. It was the perfect spot for BoJo to get married. As guests arrived, they were treated to unique and refreshing beverages before being seated. The processions were successfully timed and the music, thanks to Jumping Jukebox, was on point. How does a wedding ever flow so smooth? A day-of wedding coordinator of course! Like many other clients before Tammy and John have said, Jennifer with Love This Little City is worth her weight in gold. We agree!
We all know what’s next…time to eat, drink, and be merry! Guests and the bridal party alike were shuttled back to The Old Cigar Warehouse for such merriment. After some fun introductions and lovely first dances, everyone made their way to the Deck for a plated dinner as the sun set. We’re talking wow-factor here y’all. Centerpieces and all other floral decor were created by Renee Burroughs Design. It made the estate style seating look so elegant and straight out of a bridal magazine. Live music was performed by the Erica Berg Collective, a soulful and classy addition to the occasion. And the food? Let’s just say no one went hungry or had a qualm to spare about Chef 360 Catering. Tammy spent several years living in Alaska with her family and her youngest brother, Garrett, still resides there today. Believe it or not, he caught and shipped all the fresh salmon there that was served during the main course! It was a real treat. We also cannot forget to mention that each course was paired with a delectable wine. Tammy’s own Liquid Catering staff was on their game that evening. Aside from bartending, they were running food from the kitchen to the Deck, taking orders, and serving each course with grace.
After guests filled their bellies, the celebration of BoJo moved back inside for some dancing. Erica Berg didn’t leave–instead she DJ’ed all night! The room was lit up with additional event lighting from Jumping Jukebox and the drinks from Liquid Catering were flowing. Friends and family mingled while dancing the night away. Tammy and John were reminded of the love that encompassed them as toasts commenced in their honor. After a few happy tears and long-winded dance moves, it was time for some late night desserts. A spread of beautiful cakes was available compliments of Holly’s Cakes and tasty funnel cakes were provided by FunnelDelicious. Mm mmm!
The BoJo wedding was definitely one to remember. Thankfully there are tons of amazing photos and plenty of wonderful memories to share. As we said goodbye to Tammy and John, they rode off in a Just Married golf cart decorated and driven by a close friend. As they disappeared into the night, guests lingered over drinks and leftover desserts. The weekend was coming to a close but August 30th would never be the same for The Old Cigar Warehouse. Raise a glass and help us give the ultimate ‘cheers’ to the happy couple!!
